Annual Morocco Art escape 2020 with http://www.letsgo2morocco.com
23rd to 31st May 2020
A wonderful opportunity to explore colour, texture and contrast and create your personal response to an amazing location with Artist and Illustrator Katherine Soutar
You can get a little taster of what we do by clicking this YouTube link (I can’t seem to get the video to embed for me!)
“Katherine’s workshops included bookmaking, lino cutting and printing, as well as image making using a variety of materials to create texture and colour, she is an inspirational teacher.
Karima organised transport, accommodation and visits; we stayed in Marrakesh, Essaouira and in the Atlas Mountains, she was an invaluable guide throughout.
You work (and walk) at your own pace, some stairs involved but if you get the chance to go, I would recommend that you grab it with both hands”
Jenny Skelding. Art Escape 2019
Karima of letsgo2morocco and I first met in the wilds of the Sahara Desert in 2016 and discovered we shared a passion for Art as well as a deep love of Morocco. May 2020 will be our third Moroccan Art escape together.
Focusing on time in Marrakech, Essaouira and a 5 day retreat with workshops in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains and Amazigh countryside.
Expect a colourful week as Morocco shows you a few of its hidden treasures to inspire and delight you..
This escape is open to all creatively adventurous people; whether you are a practicing artist or not.

Please note; while we encourage you to take photographs, we ask that you respect local culture, always ask permission, and never take pictures of people in particular women unless they agree, most mountain women do not want their images on the internet.. that applies to video also. Drones are illegal in Morocco unless you are a media company with special permissions. This retreat falls during the month of Ramadan, it means it should be nice and quiet and will not affect our programme. Meals will be prepared as normal. Please respect the times of prayer for the locals as they will not always be available and also may sleep during the afternoon. Karima will always be on hand to take care of you.
the venue has quite a lot of stairs and as we also include walks in the in the Médina and visits to museums, mobility is essential for an enjoyable experience. I am afraid accessibility in Morocco is still in its early days.
We will send you a list of recommended items/clothes etc to bring once you have signed up.
Please do not change money at the airport. We will use our usual place in the medina with the best rate.
